design et al is delighted to announce shortlisted success for Marcelo Penna Yacht Design in the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015. Lamima will compete for the Sailing Yacht over 30 Metres Award.
Lamima is an Indonesian gaff-ketch traditional phinisi with all of the modern superyacht comforts. She was born from the dream of an Owner and a Captain looking not only for a building experience, but for a living one.
The first contact with the builders revealed that the detailed and classified engineering was surprisingly close to the traditional scantlings, and reciprocal learning did the rest. The program was clear from the outset: an indonesian phinisi traditional vessel merged with superyacht performance.
With exclusive design by the renowned Marcelo Penna Yacht Design, the deck space would rival any full-equipped modern charter yacht. The interior, undertaken by the Thailand-based Stanley Tang has a beautiful opulent aura with contemporary Asian styling, which allows for a spacious and relaxing layout. She is equipped with diving centre facilities and water toys to explore and navigate.
With good performances under sail & engine, Lamima has full superyacht systems. She is a long-range sailing vessel with full displacement soft motion on a brave hull, a huge sail plan with the lastest technology on handcrafted wooden masts.
