design et al are pleased to announce Mayer Hasbani have been successfully shortlisted in the Residential Architectural Property category at this year’s International Design and Architecture Awards.
The monolithic tower structure emerges as an imposing titan on the horizon. The homogeneous stone materials of this building present it as a sculpture: black granite and glass merge to give rise to geometric experimentation with stunning effect. The successful use of architectural experimentation, combined with the luxury and comfort of the interior design make this construction one of the area’s most desirable developments. Unusual octagonal floor plans create a modern ambiance and the layered design of the main tower results in a patchwork of garden terraces.
The terraces open the indoor aspects to the enviable sunlight and exploit the spectacular city-scape scene for an unrivalled view. The vision of the project is that the user can live, work and consume in a highly densified urban area without feeling suffocated by their environment. The design team used a mix of glass with softer materials and tones for the internal aspects so as to ensure a sense of comfort and sanctuary within the living areas.
The project is designed with the efficient young professional in mind; the architectural aspects are influenced by art, science and creativity, in keeping with the beat of a thriving urban space. However, the design is sure to age seamlessly as the unusual shape of the stone structure draws the eye and has become a landmark within the skyline. A project of such magnitude cannot be undertaken lightly and Mayer Hasbani’s team were able to create a truly significant project which is both influenced by and giving to the area around it.
