design et al are delighted to announce the shortlist for MDesign London for the Residential £20 Million Plus (Project Value) Award.
From the start, the brief was clear and uncompromising: to go beyond luxury and touch perfection. The designers set out to respect and wherever possible restore the building’s original features, from the central oak staircase to the dining room’s original Jacobean-style ceiling. We wanted the property to epitomise the ultimate in twenty-first century living, blending architectural heritage with a visionary design aesthetic and the ultimate in luxury to create something truly unique.
This vision was made reality through the use of the finest materials, sumptuous fabrics, hand crafted furniture and specialist finishes from around the world. These were complemented by custom-made creations from acclaimed artisans, each at the pinnacle of their craft. Every last detail is bespoke, from the spectacular metal inlaid mural in the master bathroom to the 90,000-piece waterfall chandelier that cascades down the central staircase.
The light-filled drawing room, the magnificent master suite, the oasis of tranquillity that is the spa – each space has its own distinctive character, whilst at the same time forming an integral part of a seamless whole. The scale and grandeur of the design reflects and reinforces the imposing proportions of the property, enhancing period detail with the seamless interweaving of innovative new features. The end result blends meticulous aesthetics with functionality and absolute luxury to create an elegantly balanced experience which at the same time reveals distinctive touches in every room.
