design et al are delighted to announce that Nathan Anthony Furniture has been shortlisted for Seating Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.
International award-winning designer Tina Nicole designed something extraordinary for the salon. Introducing ‘Sistine’, a free-flowing, wing-shaped sofa with artful and rhythmic Arabesque ‘dancing’ welt embellishment along the back. Sistine features equally eye-catching decorative buttons on the front panels that move in concert with the welt’s flowing lines. Anchoring the daybed is a tall, scalloped wood plinth — available in nine stylish wood finishes.
Sistine is designed with a unique winged chassis and scalloped plinth. It also features unique hand-sewn welt in Arabesque shapes. Because these shapes are hand-sewn, each shape tends to curve uniquely on its own, or ‘dance’ as Nathan Anthony Furniture call it, which has not been seen before on a sofa.
Each Arabesque panel is cut separately and sewn separately and then brought together on the sofa’s back. Also, the wood plinth is cut precisely to match the exits of each Arabesque shape. This is mastery craftsmanship at its best. Sistine is not only drop dead gorgeous, but also extremely comfortable.
