Oakeve Interiors are Shortlisted for the Residential £1-2.5 Million (Project Value) Award

design et al are thrilled to announce the successful shortlist for Oakeve Interiors for the Residential £1-2.5 Million (Project Value) Award. The client brief for the interior design was to create aspirational and opulent spaces with a seamless flow, which were still practical enough for everyday living.

The client made it clear that they wanted to buy into an ‘aspirational lifestyle’ and therefore, we had to create for them a fabulous, luxurious and opulent new ‘turnkey’ show home. This was achieved by procuring and utilising luxurious and exclusive items of furniture, accessories and wallcoverings throughout, whilst subtly changing the colour schemes for the different living zones.

In the less formal area of the Breakfast and Family Room, vibrant fabrics and accessories were utilised mimicking the pinks and coral colours of the rhododendrons planted just outside, allowing for a seamless transition ‘inside and out’. In the more formal Drawing Room, Bar Area and Dining Room space, a common colour palette was applied. The use of high gloss Sycamore veneered furniture was complemented by luxurious purple velvet armchairs and deep, cosseting sofas combined with statement artwork and sculptures.

A short journey via the luxurious yet practical, smoked mirrored, oak-panelled passenger lift, leads one to the Master Bedroom suite, a haven of tranquillity and luxury, where sumptuous fabrics and textures are used to soften the lustre of high gloss wardrobes and leather effect floor and wall tiles in the master en-suite. The addition of a fireplace within the bedroom provided warmth and cosiness for the dark winter evenings. A free-standing, curvaceous bath was included within the Master En-suite scheme and LED uplights were placed in the floor to accentuate the curvature of the bath, creating a ‘wow’ feature.
