Olive Design Studio have been shortlisted again for the Residential £1 – £2.5 Million (Project Value) Award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2015, with their Britten House project.
The project is a re-configuration and refurbishment of a 2 bed, 1 bath apartment to create a timeless 2 bed, 2 bath loft apartment.
Lucy Clarke and Katie Singleton, directors of Olive Design Studio, designed the apartment to enhance the ‘loft’ feeling of space while embracing the abundance of light and striking views through the original crittal windows.
The designers were able to experiment with the use of antique mirror within the dinning area, and polished plaster in the selected areas. In order to match today’s requirements, the integrated open plan kitchen incorporates high specification appliances and state of the art technology. This was also introduced throughout the property to provide effortless control for the very latest lighting, audio and video requirement’s.
By using a neutral palette of soft, warm tones and a variety of textures, custom designed and fitted bedroom joinery and tile matched marble sources from Italy ensuring clean lines in the two bathrooms, overall the scheme represents to epitome of luxury combined with elegant simplicity.
