design et al are delighted to announce that Overmarine Group have been shortlisted for the Power Yacht Over 40 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2019.
During the initial briefing session, Overmarine Group asked Alberto Mancini to design a yacht that would combine the features of a Mediterranean yacht with the design features of a long-range yacht which could cruise a long distance. Alberto Mancini Yacht Design therefore tried to strike a balance between sporty and elegant and incorporated the Mangusta feel into a raised pilothouse yacht. El Leon is the first model in a brand-new market segment of aluminium fast displacement yachts that perfectly blend performance, long range, style and maximum liveability afloat.
El Leon immediately catches the eye with her balanced proportions, sleek profile, and imposing bearing. Her aggressive yet poised exterior lines are the trademark of the Mangusta Gransport line, creating a pure and slender profile of sculpture-like elegance. In spite of its apparent sleekness, once on board it feels extremely spacious in every direction. El Leon also offers more than 273 square metres of outdoor space, a spacious outdoor lounge overlooking the shallow pool is at the bow, matched by a spectacular beach club opening on three sides and a comfortable outdoor salon aft on the main deck.
State of the art technological solutions enhance the Mediterranean lifestyle and provide total wellbeing for guests. Natural light was also part of the brief for Alberto Mancini Yacht Design. Light is one of the key elements on board the Mangusta Gransport line. Also, the balance between outdoor and indoor areas that has always distinguished Mangusta yachts and therefore the interiors are elegantly connected with the exterior areas by large glazed surfaces, with sinuous and harmonious shapes for a pleasing sense of continuity across the entire vessel.
Thanks to the use of the cutting edge technology, this model can deliver a very long range at cruising speed as well as very high-speed performances, up to 30 kn, always ensuring maximum onboard comfort – a key feature that makes it truly versatile and allows it to offer the most precious gift any owner can dream of: total freedom and flexibility in managing their time.
