Prestige Architects have been shortlisted for Bespoke Cabinetry/Installation Award in The International Design and Architecture 2021.
This 900 square foot pied-a-terre is part of a Grade II listed historic building in the heart of exclusive Kensington – London. Prestige Architects was appointed to carry out a full refurbishment and elevate the space for their client ensuring a warm and welcoming design was implemented.
The client purchased the property which was unmodernised for some 15 years and required to be uplifted to suit modern living. Being a listed building of historic relevance, Prestige Architects had to carefully assess the various original features and ensure their preservation – hence a detailed liaison with the local conservation officer allowed them to successfully uplift the design elements still maintaining the historic relevance. The brief from the client also included a careful assessment of the envelope and introduction of special material to isolate the property from microwave and radio wave from the outside environment.
Prestige Architects successfully created a master suite with bespoke wardrobes and direct access to the en-suite bathroom, a second guest bedroom and bathroom and an elegant living room with separate dining and kitchen all with common bespoke detailing including bespoke copper radiators. Prestige Architects enjoyed working with a client that embraced design lead recommendations such as the copper finish radiators, dual tone bespoke joinery or the elegance of the herringbone timber floor with contrasting surround.
Prestige Architects, as with all of their work, always try to find a “design link” throughout the project and in this specific case this was highlighted by the floor finishes with the contrasted bead detail which visually accompany the visitor’s eye through the property.
design et al only work with the world’s leading designers.
