Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
I am a Dublin & Kilkenny based interior designer and I first opened the doors to my interior design studio in 1999. As a graduate of Rhodec and the College of Marketing & Design (DIT), I have over 20 years of extensive knowledge of interior design and decorative arts to bring to my design work.

I believes that “a room should evolve.”  While beautiful rooms are my first consideration, client service and attention to detail are of the utmost importance.

How would you describe your personal design style?
My signature style is a relaxed elegance and it comes through in balanced interiors and an eye for subtle colour. I have a true passion for designing interiors – being able to work as a designer is an amazing opportunity to understand people and design spaces that reflect a sense of their personality.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
When you are a designer, inspiration is drawn from your surroundings, be they through travelling abroad or your home environment. Having been nicknamed “sharp eyes” as a kid by my parents, I am constantly focusing in on details and still to this day absorbing & learning new things.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Homes are being deigned to work with our new way of living, where work and home have less boundaries and are merging to provide better ways to live and work together side by side – relaxed elegance.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2020 and beyond.
Environment/energy efficiency
Sustainability
Community co-living
Work/life balance
Innovation
