. Tell us a little about your background

We met in graduate school in Colorado and started our firm in 1990. We are located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and the environment and lifestyle is part of all we do.

. How would you describe your own personal style?

Our style comes from a belief that we can create something more interesting and sculptural by digging deeper into project rather than falling back upon the style of the day.

. Where does your inspiration come from?

The clients and the site.

. In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

Our design is moving towards more sculptural and dynamic forms. The technology is there to create different forms but the architectural community, at least the residential architects, seem to be slow getting on board creating interesting but also approachable forms…

. How important are The International Design and Architecture Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?

This is the first time that we have been involved, so we are waiting breathlessly to find out! We are hoping that the IDAA will help us move beyond the shores of the US and allow us to design great projects around the world.

. What projects are you currently working on?

We have 5 residences scattered across the US and the design of one school.

. What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

To win the International Design and Architecture Awards of course!

Frustrated
