Tell us a little about your background:
I am a fourth-generation master craftsman, born and raised in Riegersburg, Austria.

My initial career started with a three-year apprenticeship at our family’s joinery workshop at the foot of Riegersburg Castle in Austria, which was established by my great grandfather in 1923. Following the apprenticeship I attended the renowned Master College of Cabinet Making in Graz to study Creative Design, Technical Design and Business Administration.

I then relocated to Vienna working as Interior Designer in a renowned Design Studio for two years. Following that experience I eventually moved to London in 2004, where I worked as a lead kitchen designer at global luxury kitchen maker Poggenpohl. In 2006, when we took over the family workshop business from our parents, my brother Johann and I established INTERIOR-iD, a London based company that specialises in the management of the manufacturer and installation of bespoke joinery for private homes. INTERIOR-iD grew from my room in a flat share to a team of 20 highly skilled project managers and technical designers focusing on collaborations with some of the world’s leading architects and interior designers, whilst the family owned workshop doubled the workforce of craftsman.

In 2017, having identified a global client demand for creative and exceptionally high-quality kitchens that are offered on a truly haute-couture basis, together with Johann we established LANSERRING. This brand is led by innovative design aesthetic and combines the Radaschitz’ workshop experience in bespoke luxury craftsmanship.

I now lead a team of 30 highly skilled designers and project managers from the LANSERRING and INTERIOR-iD studio in Notting Hill. My brother Johann is based in Austria and manages the thriving joinery workshop of 45 artisans.

How would you describe your personal design style?
Contemporary and pure with an eclectic mix of natural materials and textures.

Where does your  inspiration come from?
Reading and listening to stories of successful entrepreneurs, especially of these who disrupted entire industries with their vision and leadership.

As for Design inspiration, I’m a very visual person so I absorb quickly lots of ideas by seeing lots of beautiful things wherever I go or simply by browsing lots of images through various design literature, exhibitions and fairs, Instagram, travel.

In what direction do you feel that business is moving towards in a general sense?
Business is moving into a collaborative way as brands and companies recognised that by working/collaborating together you can achieve much more, especially in the digital age where you can leverage exposure through various shared social media channels.

Design is moving towards appreciation of true craftsmanship, distancing from systemised sterile products but seeking designs with a soul and story whilst keeping sustainability at the forefront.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2020 and beyond.
Hygenic materials, Home Office, Sustainability, Texture, Nature

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?
It’s a highly respected award because it provides a globally-recognised touchstone for contemporary design. Past winners have become seminal works, since designers globally turn to the IDAA for inspiration first.
