Tell us a little about your background in design:
Since founding the studio 15 years ago, we have focussed on Grade II listed homes and character properties in the Cotswolds providing full service interior design, architecture and project management.

How would you describe your personal design style?
Clean & contemporary spaces fused with the historic fabric of the building with the addition of lots of texture and bold, eclectic pieces.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
I am always observing everything around me in search of inspiration which can come from anywhere at any time – the natural world, a hotel I happen to be in or a material used in an unusual way.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
In a world where everything is available, we are seeing an increasing desire for one-off artisanal and craft pieces which have provenance and a story behind them.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2020 and beyond.
– Increasing emergence of craft
– Individual one-off pieces
– Warmer tones moving away from grey to taupes and beige tones
– Spaces and pieces within them need to even more multi-purpose
– Sustainability

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
Design holistically considering everything together.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?
Anything which allows for the celebration and recognition of great design is a positive force in improving the quality of design.

What projects are you currently working on?
Several Grade II listed properties in the Cotswolds including several barns, a farmhouse, a manor house and a Palladian villa.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
To continue to push the boundaries of design within the beautiful old buildings which are characteristic of the Cotswolds.
