Tell us a little about your background in design:
My background is characterized by a wide range of sectors, which goes from arts, communication, technology to luxury design. However, my main expertise is Architecture, as I graduated in this field in 2003 at the University of Florence.

Furthermore, I was in charge for ten years, in the role of style manager at Azimut-Benetti SPA, international leader in the construction of luxury yachts made in Italy, which lead me to create my own company in 2014, specialized in this domain.

How would you describe your personal design style?
My personal design style can be defined by the contraposition of aspects which can be antagonist, complementary, and interdependent at the same time. Starting from my passion for elegance and attention to details, I enjoy creating unique bespoke projects based on material mix and original handiwork, in order to deliver an immersive long-lasting experience to my clients.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
My main design inspiration comes from original shapes which can be found in nature and art, but I’m also fascinated by the eastern world culture, which I discovered during my numerous business travels.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
I feel a general return to simplicity and pure elegance. Customers are seeking more balance and minimalism in their home designs, because they prioritize a zen and relaxing atmosphere to over-decorated spaces.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2020 and beyond.
Geometric prints, pure lines, unconventional shapes, traditional craftmanship and material contrasts.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
Remember to always empathize with your clients requests, by doing a detailed market research on the current trends, while identifying your customers needs (or possible desires) beforehand.

How important are The International Yacht & Aviation Awards?
I believe that The International Yacht & Aviation Awards are a wonderful showcasing stage for companies like mine, in order to reach new potential clients in different markets. Moreover, it’s my greatest satisfaction to see my works appreciated by international industry experts, and receiving an award would mean the attainment of another important milestone for my firm.

What projects are you currently working on?
In recent years we gained more Asian clients, especially in Mainland China, as we discovered a renewed interest in China of Western home designs. So we’re currently working on big scale building renovations and private villas designs.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
My personal aim is to reach a bigger share of the Asian market and make Pulina Exclusive Interior’s name renown worldwide.
