Located in one of London’s most beautiful and desirable residential areas in Kensington, Project Thomas represents true craftsmanship, truth to material and the ultimate art of living well. No.12 Studio completed the full interior design and creative direction for this triplex penthouse apartment that offers open-plan, modern city living in a prime London location.
The interior design for the penthouse apartment fundamentally exudes and elevates the principles of which the architecture had been developed. With an un-compromised attention to detail and quality the holistic design approach evolves throughout each space creating a luxurious and bespoke interior. Carefully selected materials complement the eclectic mix of furniture and lighting, whilst keeping a true sense of the historic value of the area and the building’s contemporary, yet crafted design.
The refined colour palette of the property is mostly neutral with desaturated tones serving as accents throughout each of the spaces, with boldness in form taking precedence over pattern. The reception room walls are painted in a cool grey to add a masculine twist to the space while highlighting the rare 360-degree views of London. Rich insertions of desaturated colour punctuate the light-filled space including the bespoke dining table finished in a No.12 Studio special ultra-matte ice timber at the heart of the dining area.
No.12 Studio blend modern brands with vintage pieces to create a fresh interior that feels like a home curated with pieces collected over time. In this residence, bespoke, vintage, antique and modern designs have been harmoniously combined, from the classic reupholstered Italian reading chairs in the snug reading area, to the No.12 Coffee Table as the jewel of the formal reception area.
The design is further elevated by a careful selection of bespoke furniture, a key element found in all No.12 projects, which enables the studio to push the boundaries in creative interior design and offer a truly tailored solution.
