design et al are delighted to announce that Luciano Gerbilsky Architects have been shortlisted for Interior Design Scheme – Global Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.
Located in a privileged area within Valle de Bravo, MC House is surrounded by a spectacular natural setting, accentuated by a grandiose view of the lake. Luciano Gerbilsky Architects began this project by remodelling an existing home, modifying its architecture, façade and interior and exterior space obtaining a complete renovation. The interior is composed of five large bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, a TV room, children’s play centre, bar and adult game room, interior dining room for twelve people, kitchen, and guest bathroom.
Outside, below a high ceiling the property contains a lounge area, Jacuzzi, living room and dining area with an Argentinean style grill and oven. Adjacent to this area is the beautifully landscaped garden, a pond, and an infinity pool with sunbeds alongside. As with all of Luciano Gerbilsky Architects’s projects, their team created a unique concept for this home, designing all the furniture, lamps, up to the finest of details. The base elements are composed by the combination of natural wood with rustic finishing, combined with metals such as brass and bronze. Through the impressive entrance door, the lobby has double-height ceilings leading to a grand corridor decorated with vertical accessories made with solid Parota wood with bronze details. This corridor divides the interior areas and leads to the terrace with a beautiful view of the lake in the distance. The children’s play area is designed in ebony wood, detailed with bronze and Parota pieces that contain lighting that bathes each piece below.
There is also a large TV screen which is set into the volcanic rock wall. To the right is the interior dining room for which a table was designed combining irregular shaped pieces of wood framed with a bronze plate. The chairs, also designed specifically for this project, are a reinterpretation of the classic director’s chair, with a wooden structure upholstered with natural toned leather. The TV room is made up of a large sofa and a unique centre table with an integrated chimney designed by combining irregular blocks of black marble. Alongside the TV room is the bar with a black marble counter with bronze lattice and a game table made of red oak tinted black.
The covered terrace and the interior rooms are divided by sliding glass doors that open completely to unite all areas. The covered terrace hosts the exterior dining room and lounge area with chimneys and couches that invite rest and relaxation while enjoying the view of the garden and the lake. The ornamental pond is part of the landscaping that leads to the pool area surrounded by a floating deck with sunbeds and tables made of tree trunks bathed with antique bronze. The bathroom and bedroom furniture is characteristic in all RED Group projects, each one is unique. In the bathrooms, you can find black marble, natural wood, metallic accessories, oak wood floors, and stone type porcelain floors for wet areas.
