design et al are delighted to announce that Samantha Pope Luxury Interiors have been shortlisted for Living Space – London Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.
The design brief for this project was to provide a luxury formal sitting and dining area that was exclusive to Samantha Pope Luxury Interiors’ client and it was therefore essential that all furniture was bespoke.
The sitting area was to be used as the main entertaining space and really needed to evoke luxury. It was important for Samantha Pope Luxury Interiors to balance the glamorous look with practicality, as the client wanted the sofa designed specifically for their measurements. The dining area, which was open plan with the sitting room, required a 12-person table and furniture to house the client’s luxury cutlery and tableware along with a drinks cabinet to house glassware and liquors.
The client requested the addition of electrical curtain tracks and blinds to synchronise with the existing Control4 Home Automation system and high-end finishes such as high gloss, bronze and specialist textured finishes against a calm neutral palette. Samantha Pope Luxury Interiors believe that the key aspect of this project was the ability to express their design skills through designing all the bespoke furniture in house, such as the drinks cabinet which featured bronze details, Ziricote high gloss veneer, high gloss pearlized oak and antique mirror, all in a Mondrian inspired block pattern.
So much detail has gone into every aspect of this living space, and the room works so well because there is so much interest in terms of finishes and texture, yet the overall colour scheme is calm, neutral and subtle creating a well-balanced interior. The property is set within a prestigious area of North London, the opulent tones of bronze and golds amongst a backdrop of muted tones and texture express luxury in its purest form which is exactly what the client required.
