design et al are delighted to announce that Samantha Wren Interiors have been shortlisted for City Space (Apartment/Penthouse) Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.
The brief for Samantha Wren Interiors was to create a luxurious turnkey space and retreat from the busy London life of a married couple. This two-bedroom new build luxury apartment was to feature a neutral classic colour palate and the interiors were to be classic contemporary with a timeless element. The client, a professional sportsman, and his wife visited London often and wanted an apartment that felt homely as well as luxurious.
As the square footage of the apartment was small, Samantha Wren Interiors utilised the space by incorporating bespoke pieces of furniture all scaled to the area where they were to be installed. The designers used scaled floor layout plans plus elevation drawings to formulate the concept design. Scheming and mood boards were used to include different contrast materials such as stained koto veneered joinery, brushed brass, plush velvets, warm oaks, linens, leathers and marbles creating a rich layered interior. The scheme was to include a palate of neutral colour ways for all fabrics, all with differing textures plus a complementary contrast colour way within the bespoke cushions and soft furnishings.
The clients required that the living area should utilise the space allowing for both dining and relaxation. The bedroom was to feel as luxurious as a five-star hotel with Egyptian cotton high thread bedding, bespoke bed throws, goose filled duvet and pillows and luxury bath sheets, shagreen photo frames and scented candles to create a deluxe sleeping environment. All upholstery items were to be bespoke and made to work within the space along with all window treatments and soft furnishings.
Samantha Wren Interiors were able to create an interior of timeless elegance and received overwhelming gratitude from the client. The interior integrates seamlessly into the glamorous location but also gives a sanctuary to the hustle and bustle of London life.
