design et al are delighted to announce that Sequoia London has been shortlisted for Living Space – London Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.
A beautiful three-bedroom, fourth floor lateral apartment with two large receptions rooms each offering stunning views over Regents Park. The client, a private international developer, requested Sequoia London to completely redesign the layout of the apartment. The brief whilst redesigning the space was to transform the property from a two-bedroom, two bathroom to a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment, the client wanted to accommodate a large master en suite with a walk-in wardrobe and vanity unit, all while maximizing the wardrobe space in each room.
Sequoia London wanted to create a space that felt contemporary while utilising the beautiful natural light that came in. Right from the time you enter the apartment, to walking down the long entry hallway and especially in the large open plan living and dining reception area, Sequoia London wanted to ensure the eventual owner would be able to make the most of the stunning views this property had over Regents Park and London.
While increasing from two to three bedrooms, Sequoia London had to ensure ample wardrobe storage. The key here was being very creative in ensuring none of the bedrooms felt small. By using clever space layouts, they have been able to design closets, wardrobes and key storage spaces that look seamless with the design. The desire was also to have a few hints of traditional elements to make it a timeless project that any homeowner would appreciate. The colour scheme throughout is neutral, soft and calming with hints of gold in each room to add the element of glamour and drama to the space.
Balance is crucial for every project Sequoia London complete. Balancing the elements of a beautiful and timeless design while ensuring functionality. The design has created a space that would offer day to day comfort to the buyer, but also allow the them to feel proud and compelled to show off the property to friends and family. Without a doubt, one of the most incredible parts of this property is the stunning views, not only of Regents Park, but also of London. Sequoia London’s design factors this in very well, not only in the front facing rooms: the master bedroom, living and dining, but right from the moment you open the front door.
