El Secreto is composed of 13 independent Mayan thatched roof villas distributed along the ocean front, a tropical vegetation area and around a salt man made lake. Each of them beautiful in it’s own particular way. They are all one- bedroom villas measuring between 1188 sq ft and 2093 sq ft. with a practical yet interesting and original layout. Each Spa, Sea, Lake and Tropical Villa offers something different, although for honeymooners it has to be the full ocean view Spa Villa with private steam room, massage cabin and infinity pool.
Modern technology is represented by a state of the art led lighting system, an automatized Control 4 system by Tekhaus that allows you to control, lights, locks, temperature, TV and music. LCD flatscreen TV, fix and cordless phone, Mini Bar, Melita pod coffee maker, laptop size safe, Ipod docking station & WiFi. The ethnical touch is given by the custom made 100% Linen curtains ,the regional bed runners and ceramic artisanal ornaments among many other local decorative items distributed around the villa. All of these mixed with your own library, natural fiber rugs make an intimate cozy ambiance that is enlightened by your choice of lighting scene and music with the Control 4 system provided by Tekhaus.
A smart combination of contemporary and traditional elements has been used throughout El Secreto. A Belizean tropical wood, Barbajolote, was used for the furniture, closets and doors of the villas. The fine Italian marble bathrooms are complete with tandem sinks, rainfall shower, hot tub and access to a private outdoor patio with a rainfall shower. The king size bed tempur-pedic matresses dressed in Vivenda’s 400 thread-count Egyptian cotton linens and the pillow of your choice will drift you away to a perfect and relaxing sleep. One of the biggest challenges was having to ship construction materials in via barge while installing the entire, previously non-existent electrical and water desalination infrastructure, they all started sharing their secret with the world when the property officially opened on October 1, 2012.
