A Rooftop Indian Speciality Restaurant, Level 12 at Double Tree By Hilton, Chinchwad, Pune has been shortlisted for the Bar/Club/Lounge Award.
Famous for offering best-in-class services to corporate, DoubleTree by Hilton offers an intimate and charming atmosphere, high-quality comfort and a melange of traditional and modern hospitality, The DoubleTree by Hilton Pune-Chinchwad is a full service hotel belonging to Hilton worldwide.
The key factor was to design an outlet, which will attract the local patrons as well. Taking advantage of the architectural design and utilising space to its optimum was the main criteria while going back to the drawing board. Architecturally, the team had designed the rooftop into split levels to accommodate a lap pool on the terrace and a fitness centre at the lower level. These Levels detailed out from the architectural design at the rooftop were perfect to create an intimate and charming dining experience to the guests. With twinkling stars above and a splendid view of the city from the top, a concept emerged, less is more!
The entire terrace is divided into two levels. A lap pool was designed at the center spreading across the longitudinal axis and was cantilevered along the side to create an overflow of water. Studio K-7 Designs, as principal Architects and designers, wanted this venue to have a ‘no frills’ effect and the idea was to exploit the levels, the central feature of the lap pool and the scenic view around to achieve an unforgettable dining experience. The Interior Designer appointed by the owners, Mr. Masafumi Sanada (M-Style, Japan) also agreed on the same note. Mr. Sanada designed a simple yet elegant lounge seating at the higher level with a bar counter as the central feature.
The lower level was designed to have a normal dining set up with the overflow of pool water as a backdrop on one side and the areal view of the city on the other. The contrast of the falling water with the fire behind creates the most romantic effect for the place. Strategic positioning of lighting enhances the whole ambiance to create a perfect romantic venue.
