design et al are excited to announce that TANDEM have achieved further shortlist success in the International Hotel & property Awards with The Cromwell in the Hotel Design Award- North & South America.
The Parisian loft apartment-inspired rooms are a package of modern sophistication tied with a vintage bow. Unique details, custom furnishings, wood flooring and whimsical art create these exceptional & distinctive rooms. The hotel rooms and suites are reminiscent of Parisian loft apartment with distressed wood flooring and furnishings with vintage luggage motifs. Lighting recalls the French provincial styling with the use of exposed Edison light bulbs or classical opulent crystal chandeliers. Black and white mosaic tiled shower walls act as the canvas for miscellaneous English-French phrases providing a whimsical element. The artwork throughout adds a playful and quirky twist to the overall design. The Parlour & Boulevard Suites evoke feelings of nostalgia of times past.
With weathered wood plank flooring throughout and antiqued furnishings, these suites embody “vintage” comfort and luxury. Unique furniture, all custom pieces, lend themselves to the rustic splendour guests enjoy in these spaces – with rich textures and hues of cream and mocha with accents of deep turquoise throughout. These vintage inspired suites have steampunk attitude combined with luxuriousness fit for a king…or queen. Upon entering the Gallery Suite, the senses are greeted from all angles. Above, a glimmering crystal chandelier, ahead, an ornate wall mirror reflecting beauty back at the entering guest; to one side- a beautiful bar glowing from within, and to the other- a plush bed with luxury linens, a beautifully tufted velvet headboard and deep, rich drapery as the backdrop.
The Gallery Suite is a posh, up-scale, modern living space that no guest will want to check-out of. With espresso stained wood plank flooring and stone imported from Portugal throughout, the luxuriousness of this suite permeates from wall to wall. With dual televisions in the parlour between and oversize curved sofa, guests can enjoy any “down-time” they may find for themselves at the Cromwell. An oversized steam shower at the master bathroom, clad in gorgeous black stone, as well as dedicated dressing area truly allow the guest to step into the regal lifestyle embodied by this suite.
The overall look and feel to this hotel is really unique – it’s worldy, but stays true to the Parisian flair we have as a theme. Also, achieving what we achieved on the budget allotted it also a really amazing aspect. And lastly, that this is the first boutique hotel on the Las Vegas Strip is truly something we will always keep as a favourite aspect to this project.
Through working with the entire team (owner, contractor, vendors), we were able to achieve a beautiful concept, and very cohesive design – as our philosophy at Tandem is: design is a product of minds working or occurring in conjunction with each other (IN TANDEM). It is this partnership of ideas from the client, the trades, the artisans and the designer that a creative vision is formed and realized
