The Vripack-designed Axantha II is the latest build to reach the shortlist of the International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2013.
Submitted by JFA Yachts, her competitors to date include Karia (RMK Marine), Helix (Feadship), Paramour (PURE Superyacht Refit), Orient Star (CMB Yachts) and Ouranos (Admiral Tecnomar Group) – all of which are competing for the Motor Yacht over 40 Metres Award.
Axantha II, 43m in length, was completed at JFA Yachts’ ship yard in France. Her aluminium hull and superstructures give her a moderate displacement which, combined with a reasonably-sized engine, allows her to reach a speed of 14.8 knots.
A consumption of only 110 litres at 11.5 knots offers 6795 miles autonomy, ideal for ocean voyage.
The boat, which amounts to no less than 340 square meters of interior arrangements, can comfortably accommodate eleven guests and eight crew members.
The interior layouts are made in stained cherry wood. The floors, in either teak or douka, are accented by a wenge edge.
Great care was paid to sound and vibration insulation with the sound levels measured in various zones attesting to an extremely quiet boat.
