Boscolo shortlisted for the Living Space – U.K. Award

Boscolo shortlisted for the Living Space – U.K. Award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2015

A complete renovation of a two bedroom ground floor apartment within a Grade II listed block located opposite Harrods, Knightsbridge. Bscolo were commissioned to redesign the whole apartment for their client who is a young male entrepreneur. With family overseas, the purpose of the apartment was to be a bachelor pad for most of the year, with a secondary bedroom and multifunctional living spaces which could entertain guests when they visited. The style required by their client was contemporary and illustrious. He likes dark, rich furnishings complemented by metallic colours, with clean, simple lines to create a modern and calm, yet luxurious feel.

As this property is to mostly be used by their client alone, the team wanted to develop a spatial layout that reflected his habits. He likes to play guitar, watch TV when he gets a chance and, being the owner of a gourmet pizza restaurant, loves to cook for himself as well as entertaining guests. With a great deal of space available it would have been easy to make the property feel cold, but with a bespoke automated lighting scheme, as well as a considered choice of furnishings we made sure this wasn’t the case.

Along with the open plan design of the kitchen area (in order to give the client the space he wanted to both entertain guests with live demonstration style cooking, and cook for himself), the Boscolo team have created a guest bedroom complete with en-suite, which maintains the luxurious narrative found throughout the rest of the property.
