Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. have been shortlisted in the International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2014 in the Airline Lounge category with their lounge at Hong Kong International Airport “The Bridge”.

This project involved the design of a new single class lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, offering an exclusive and relaxing space for Cathay Pacific passengers. “The Bridge” is located at Level 5, West Concourse at HKIA, ideally situated for passengers exciting the terminal passenger train near gate 35.
The design intent of The Bridge is that of a residential space, creating the overall impression reminiscent of a living room environment, providing a reassuring, yet familiar space for the passenger to settle in comfortably.
The new lounge features warm colours, timber flooring and luxurious carpet, with the overall impression reminiscent of a living room environment, with natural sunlight filtering through the floor to ceiling windows.
Black granite and oak slat walls marry with black tiles and oak timber to create a warm and inviting environment. Burnished brass panels and aerofoil louvres, together with bronze walls accentuate the understated elegance in the dining and bar areas, while the use of Corian claddings adds a touch of modern simplicity to the lounge.
The Bridge delivered on its design intent and is proving to be a favourite amongst Cathay Pacific passengers.
