Design Intervention shortlisted for the Residential £2.5 – £5 Million (Project Value) Award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2015
The project was a modernisation and redesign of a classic Singapore shop house. The home had been gazetted as a conservation building so we had to work within very strict rules and guidelines. The brief was to retain the classic colonial feel of the original architectural framework, while making the home work for a 21st Century lifestyle.
The owners are a couple with no children, they enjoy entertaining at home and required a home that was glamorous enough for formal entertaining yet would also feel cosy for intimate evenings in.
The owners had a wide eclectic range of art and collectables and the challenge was to integrate those seamlessly into a modern glamorous home.
