Creating a magnificent vaulted bedroom with hidden bathroom, bedroom island and detailing including shoe carousels and pop up television / vanity mirror in beautiful English country house.

The brief was to transform two small dark bedrooms with low flat ceilings in to a master suite for an important country home in Surrey, UK. The aim was to bring volume and light to the room whilst crating an intimate, comfortable yet opulent bedroom. Two bedrooms were made in to one and magnificent large oak trusses and beams create a feeling of spaciousness, warmth and grandeur. A bathroom was designed and is cleverly accessed through doors hidden in the run of washed tulip wood wardrobes.

The client wanted to create order in the wardrobes and an island was designed specifically for their cufflinks, ties, watches and braces. Shoe carousels were designed for the lady’s shoes. The pop up television doubles as a vanity mirror on the dressing table and disappears when not being used. The bathroom completes the master bedroom with ambient lighting, steam room, shower and stand alone bath. Lighting can be tuned to different colours. The washed tulip wood seamlessly melts in with the bedroom and enhances the light and airy feel with its silvery blond quality.
