By applying the concept of traditional Chinese courtyard architecture while implementing an articulated space planning strategy throughout all public areas and guestrooms, the owner and designers maintained a close collaboration to integrate the desired design concept seamlessly throughout the entire property resulting in a maximum efficiency of circulation allowing for open spaces, a sophisticated food and beverage program portraying the sense of privacy and intimacy of a “home away from home”.

The property consists of 233 rooms and 30 suites, a Spa and Fitness facility, a Chinese restaurant with nine private dining rooms, an oak bar, an all day dining restaurant, a private club lounge with its own library and walk-in service kitchen and an elegant yet modest Cake Shop as the property’s retail component.

The Guestrooms and Suites which consist of 233 rooms and 30 suites respectively present a unique aspect of hotel guestroom design. The influence of Chinese courtyard architecture provide a corridor in separating a valet walk-in closet, two separate bath areas for a vanity and bathroom areas, and the bedroom quarters. Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou was conceived to provide a timeless luxurious experience both for the traveler and the local people of Guangzhou.
