design et al are delighted to announce that Stylt Trampoli AB have been shortlisted for Hotel Under 200 Rooms Europe Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2017.
A redevelopment of a fairly average alpine hotel into a portal to the great outdoors, HUUS Hotel offers easy access to mountain adventure for everyone, as well as a welcoming, home-away-from-home ambience. 
“Huus” means house or home and the ambition has been to create the feeling of visiting a friend´s house that you feel comfortable in. All the functions like reception, guides, equipment-rental, restaurant, bar, living-room were brought together into one space, the welcoming lobby, which is the heart of the hotel. Much effort has also gone into opening up the building, erasing the boundaries between inside and outside. The spectacular, ever-present mountains invite guests to go outside and find their adventure, whether on foot, on skis, by bike or raft. One example is the reception desk made from a natural boulder found in the nearby river – a piece of Saanenland brought right into the hotel.
The lounge, with its adjacent library, is the warm and relaxing heart of the hotel. Like the guest rooms, it is furnished in natural traditional materials with rich organic colours. In addition to deep inviting sofas and a large fireplace, it has personal touches like the musical instruments and the hundreds of hand-picked books and magazines. The effect is something like a living room right on the mountainside – a perfect mix of comfort and adventure. The design works because it is a seamless part of a carefully designed guest experience. Because it is based on a strong, strategic concept, it is meaningful as well as gorgeous, durable and commercially effective.
