Congratulations to Tania Azadian Interiors who have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence – London Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019

design et al are delighted to announce that Tania Azadian Interiors have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence – London Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.

This project involved a full house refurbishment of a 6-bedroom residence from a dark, traditional classic style interior to a modern, luxurious and contemporary family home without losing its home comfort and function. The client’s children had now left the family home, so they wanted to create a home more suited to this new stage in their lives. Initially, the couple just wanted to relocate their kitchen from the centre of the existing house to the rear with access to the beautifully landscaped garden and adding an extension to increase the size of the space. A further two bedrooms and two bathrooms were added as part of the extension and the kitchen/family space was then opened up to the dining room and drawing room to give more of an open-plan feel.

The project developed further from this and the client then decided the whole 6-bedroom family home needed to be fully renovated from a dark, traditional classic style to a modern and contemporary luxury residence. A palette of warm grey was selected as the base for the scheme and enlivened with shots of colour accents throughout in addition to adding layers of different textures creating a sophisticated and stylish interior. It was important for the home to be a welcoming and practical space as well as sociable and elegant to reflect their love of entertaining.

The contrast marble inlay border detailing in the long ground floor hallway create subtle zones and interest to break up the expanse and corridor feel. The round lacquered hallway table and stunning custom spiral pendant light is off set to the side to give that element of surprise as you enter in to the centre of the property. The polished chrome stair rods on the main staircase reinstate that elegant feel as you move up through the house. The master suite was reconfigured to create his and hers wardrobe areas and the brief for Tania Azadian Interiors was to make it feel like a luxury hotel. A stunning slab of marmara was chosen for the feature wall in the raised shower in the ensuite bathroom

The continuity and flow as you take the journey through the property is evident with each room having the same underlying palette which ties the interior together. However, Tania Azadian Interiors have created a subtle separation by building layers of different wall finishes, textures, details and materials evoking overall a sophisticated and stylish interior whilst simultaneously keeping it a welcoming, functional and practical family home.
