design et al are delighted to announce that Oakeve Interiors won the Residential £2.5-5 Million (Property Value) Award in the ID&A Awards 2016. Holm Oak is an imposing, unique new build ‘Arts & Crafts’ style country house, which marries together a traditional façade, with a contemporary, luxurious and sumptuous interior.
Holm Oak was originally intended to be a speculative development, but as the client purchased the house ‘off plan’, it became a client-driven project with their specific ‘brief ’ driving the scheme. The client made it clear that they wanted to buy into an ‘aspirational lifestyle’ and therefore, Oakeve Interiors had to create for them a fabulous, luxurious and opulent new ‘turnkey’ show home.
Innovative storage methods were used such as creating oak paneled ‘secret’ cupboards providing practical storage solutions in a bespoke and unobtrusive manner so as not to compromise on living accommodation. Future proofing was a key design aspect for this new dwelling, such as introducing a six person lift, in order for our buyers to enjoy the house for as long as they wished. Fireplaces were used in many of the reception rooms and master bedroom creating a focal point, whilst adding to feelings of contentment.
The integration of attractive traditional architecture, sensible, user-friendly technologies, combined with a beautiful interior design, created a home that was a pleasure to live in. Lutron mood lighting, a full home cinema and a Sonos Multi-Room Audio System further promotes the wellbeing of the client.
