design et al are delighted to announce shortlist success for YWS Design in the International Hotel & Property Awards 2015. Hotel Michael at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, will compete for the Lobby/ Public Areas/ Lounge Award in the fifth annual awards.
Guests find sanctuary in this elegant oasis designed with crystal lattice walls, cascading water-drop pendant lights and embossed floral-design ceilings. Surrounded by luxury and elegant details, guests find sanctuary the moment they walk through the front doors of this boutique hotel. Located within Asia’s ultimate resort destination, Resorts World Sentosa, Hotel Michael is one of six hotel offerings at the complex.
This boutique hotel has been a delight for art enthusiasts since its initial opening in 2010 with its art gallery-like guest rooms that pay tribute to American contemporary architect, Michael Graves. For its refurbishment, YWS stayed true to the boutique’s roots and created a lobby/lounge with details to delight art connoisseur’s and luxury leisure seekers.
Beauty floods the 903 square meter hotel lobby with an abundance of waterpendant shaped lights, embossed floral-designs on the ceiling and a large crystal lattice wall that stretches the length of the lobby floor.
Understanding that tranquility isn’t solely accomplished by aesthetics, YWS didn’t stop there. With the intent to design a luxury environment for social interactions and relaxation, YWS also focused on improving the space’s functionality and flow in order to enhance the guest experience. The result is a hospitality sanctuary which met project goals, budget and schedule.
