ZZ Architects from Mumbai, have been short listed for the ‘Residential £20 million plus’ award in the International Design & Architecture Awards 2013.
The 12,000 sq ft luxury villa, also in Mumbai, was designed for three brothers to individually enjoy their own private space with their individual families.
Each individual home is stylized keeping in mind the inhabitants and their personal requirements. Marble has been sourced directly from the mines in Italy and furniture has been sourced from some of the finest companies in Europe.
The Villa has been cladded totally using beige and orange travertine stone. The rest of the combination is made up of external grade wood and corian.
A highly contemporary home, the architecture and the interior design of the space merge effortlessly. Each home has a central courtyard in which the skylights filter in natural light to make the whole home constantly filled with light. All internal heights are kept at above 14 feet and the living room is approximately 30 feet high. Most of the house has White Statutario as its main flooring. The living room has an interesting marble sourced from Antolini which makes the space feel unique and dramatic. Sicis has also been used extensively in the home both as accents in floors and walls.
The material palette is extensive and all of them come together to create a truly unique and dramatic home of meticulous taste.
Each individual home consists of –
Ground Floor– Entrance Lobby, Informal Living Area, Formal Living Space (30’ high), Dining Area, Guest Bedroom, Kitchen, Temple
First Floor- Two Bedrooms for the Kids, Library and Entertainment Lounge
Second Floor– One Bedroom For Kids, Large Master Bedroom Suite with Private Study and Terrace Garden.
Third Floor– Common Floor with an amalgamation of common activities for all the three families. This floor consists of a Large Home Theatre, A State of the Art and fully equipped gym, a Banquet Hall for private parties and a large terrace running across the length of the home.
The heights of the spaces and also the integration of technology within the home is something we cherished while working on this home. It was also special to create the common floor for all the families as it had some unique spaces that we could create.
