Over almost thirty years, KWD has successfully managed hundreds of full-scale interior design projects. Their tight-knit team is well-educated in interior design and interior architecture, furniture design, project management, communications, and finance. KWD designers are trained in a variety of styles, from classical to contemporary, formal to playful, and are experts in creating authentic period looks or mixing modern pieces with older gems.
Lead by Kendall Wilkinson, a California native with a timeless sensibility, their founder has emerged as one of the United States’ most celebrated interior designers. Establishing her eponymous San Francisco firm in 1992, Kendall creates bespoke residences with an emphasis on beauty and comfort. Her oeuvre ranges from Pacific Heights estates to coastal Mexican vacation getaways. Geographically her projects span the USA and beyond.
A successful influencer in the design world, Kendall has been chosen as a keynote speaker at University of California’s “Who’s Who in Interior Design” conference five times, and has been the recipient of California Home + Design’s “Award for Showcase House Design,” the Marin Art & Garden Center’s “Outstanding Achievement Award,” Sunset Magazine’s “Award of Excellence,” and is LUXE’s “2020 Regional RED Award” winner.
In Spring of 2016, Kendall expanded her offerings to include a collection of indoor/outdoor fabrics for Fabricut, bringing her cultivated vision to an international audience. A second textile collection, released in Fall of 2019 follows focused on upholstery and drapery. Kendall’s work graces the pages of Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, and Wall Street Journal, to name a few. Along with participating in numerous showcases over the years including the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, Elle Decor Showhouse, and LUXE Magazine’s Maison de Luxe Showhouse, she is a sought-after industry panelist. Professionally she served on the prestigious Board of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art.
