In 1992 Christopher Hyde-Smith fulfilled his ambition to design beautiful, handmade lighting to adorn the most stylish interiors. Reinterpreting the styles and motifs of the past he launched his first range of classically inspired luminaires. Employing skilled craftsmen ensured attention to detail and a high-quality finish for each item. Christopher was passionate about elegant lighting and often created one off pieces. Christopher Hyde’s lights soon adorned grand hotels, Royal Palaces, as well as exclusive homes both in the United Kingdom and abroad.
From humble beginnings, the business grew to become Christopher Hyde Limited in 1995. For a further 20 years until retirement Christopher Hyde-Smith commanded his renowned luxury lighting brand. For the last 5 years Christopher Hyde Limited has been under new ownership. Moving the business in a new direction by bringing fresh perspectives and innovation whilst keeping many of the company’s core products, traditions and values.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2020, the Christopher Hyde showroom received a high-end renovation. The upgrade has provided our customers with even more space to view each fitting in comfort and style.
Neutral colour tones, soft grey panelled walls with light pine wood flooring all add to the aesthetics of the space. The implementation of an open plan concept creates a natural flow throughout the showroom. It is important to showcase each individual fixture to its full potential and now our products can be viewed from multiple angles.
Our unique fittings are created by skilled craftsman using materials such as crystal, genuine brass with exquisite detail, marble, glass, luxury leather, chinette and linen textiles. You are bound to find the perfect statement piece.
